FR welding jacket orders, in short
Sharknits makes FR (flame-resistant) welding jackets to order in aramid fabric, for welding shops, welding schools and welding distributors. Sleeves, bibs, knit hoods and hard hat liners can match, with the knit fabric confirmed with each quote. The minimum is 50 pieces per style and color, with sizes mixed. Each order comes with the yarn maker's certificate and a copy of our CE certificate for flame-resistant fabrics (CE is the European product mark). Before we ship, we test a swatch of your fabric with a flame and send you the video. First we make one physical sample, and we confirm its price with your quote. After you approve it, bulk takes about 6 to 8 weeks, plus shipping. We quote FOB (free on board) Karachi or DDP (delivered duty paid) to your door. You pay in full when the order is ready to ship.

Where aramid fits in a welding shop
Aramid is lighter than leather, and its flame resistance is part of the fiber. Your safety team picks what fits each job.
- Lighter than leather: an aramid jacket is woven twill, not hide, so it weighs less than a leather jacket.
- Heavy spatter: for heavy spatter and overhead work, shops choose leather.
- Sparks that stay: sparks that land and stay on any FR fabric can still get through it.
- Your safety team: employers choose what welders wear from their own hazard assessment.

Sleeves, bibs, hoods and liners
Pieces that go with the jacket. We confirm the knit fabric for hoods and liners with your quote.

Kits for welding schools and crews
One order can carry the jacket and the pieces that go with it.
- School kits: a jacket and a pair of sleeves for each student, with the school's logo.
- Crew kits: jackets, sleeves and bibs for a shop, with the shop's logo.
- Knit add-ons: a knit welding hood or a hard hat liner for each kit.
- Gloves: welding gloves, made in our Sialkot factory, with your logo.
- The minimum: 50 pieces per style and color, counted for each piece in the kit.
What comes with your order
What we send with each order, and plain words on certification.
- The yarn certificate: we buy the aramid yarn ourselves. Each order comes with the yarn maker's certificate for that yarn.
- The CE certificate: our fabric facility holds a CE certificate for making finished flame-resistant fabrics. We send you a copy with your quote.
- A test video: before we ship, we test a swatch of your fabric with a flame. We send you the video.
- What they show: the certificates cover the yarn and the fabric. They are not a garment certification.
- Certified garments: garment certification is done by an independent certification body. Tell us the standard your program uses.
- Your quote: we confirm whether it can be done for your order, what it costs and how long it adds.
- The label: a garment carries a certification label only after that body lists it.
- Your safety team: employers choose FR clothing from their own hazard assessment, and pick the standard for each garment.

Do welders need FR clothing?
OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) leaves it to the employer's hazard assessment. In a 2012 letter, OSHA said it expects employers to provide FR clothing where welders face flash fires or short flame exposures. Your safety team decides what your welders wear.
Is aramid good for welding?
Aramid is lighter than leather, and its flame resistance is part of the fiber. Sparks that land and stay on any FR fabric can still get through it. For heavy spatter, shops choose leather. Your safety team picks what fits each job.
What is the minimum for welding jackets?
50 pieces per style and color. You can mix sizes within that number.
Do you make welding sleeves and bibs?
Yes. Sleeves with elastic at both ends, and bibs with a neck strap and waist ties. Both come in the same aramid fabric, from 50 pieces per style and color.
Can you make kits for a welding school?
Yes. A jacket and sleeves for each student, with the school's logo, and a knit hood if you want one. Each piece counts on its own toward the minimum.
Can you put our shop logo on the back?
Yes. A logo on the chest, or a larger one on the back, like our BRAZE jacket. Tell us your program's rules for logo size first.
Can you make certified welding jackets?
Garment certification, for example to EN ISO 11611, the European standard for welders' clothing, is done by an independent certification body. Tell us the standard your program uses. We confirm with your quote whether it can be done, what it costs and how long it adds.
How long does an order take?
We make one physical sample first and confirm its price with your quote. After you approve it, bulk takes about 6 to 8 weeks, plus shipping. By air, shipping takes about 1 to 2 weeks.
Do you make welding gloves?
Yes. Our Sialkot factory makes welding gloves with your logo. For gloves, we confirm the minimum with your quote.
