Labels and packaging, in short
Sharknits makes the labels, tags, trims and packaging that finish a clothing line: woven and printed labels, hang tags, poly mailers, mailer boxes, tissue, stickers, tape, zips with your logo, drawcords and buttons. Labels and tags are usually made with your clothing order. Every order ships in our standard packaging, and custom packaging is a separate order. We confirm the minimum with your quote, and you see them on your sample before bulk. You pay in full when the order is ready to ship.

In the US, most clothing must show a few things on its labels. Check the rules for your products with the FTC (Federal Trade Commission).
- Fiber content what the fabric is made of, by percentage, such as 100% cotton.
- Country of origin where the garment was made, such as Made in Pakistan.
- Your identity your brand name, or your RN (registered identification number).
- Care instructions how to wash, dry and iron it.
- Size most brands put it on a size tab or the care label.

We make one physical sample for $150 to $500, depending on the design. You can make changes during sampling. Bulk starts only after you approve the sample.

Questions buyers ask
Do you make woven labels?
Yes. We weave neck labels, tabs and tape with your logo, like the jacquard tape we made for Saint Parma, a client. We also print care and size labels.
What is the difference between woven and printed labels?
Woven labels have the logo woven in with thread, so they feel textured and last. Printed labels are printed on a smooth fabric, so they are soft against the skin, which suits care labels.
Can you make hang tags with our logo?
Yes. We make hang tags in kraft, black or cream card, printed or debossed with your logo, on a cord or a pin, like the tags on this page.
Do you make poly mailers and boxes?
Yes. Every order ships in our standard packaging. If you want your own, we make poly mailers, polybags, mailer boxes, tissue paper, stickers and tape with your logo, as a separate order.
Can I order labels and tags on their own?
Yes. Tell us what you need and the quantity, and we will confirm the minimum with your quote. Most brands order labels and tags with their clothing, so every piece arrives labeled and tagged.
What does a clothing label need to show in the US?
Most clothing needs the fiber content, the country of origin, and your brand name or RN, plus care instructions. Check the FTC rules for your products. Our brand guide links the official sources.
Do you attach the labels and tags for us?
Yes. When we make your clothing, we sew in the labels, attach the hang tags and pack your order.
