Ordering from Saudi Arabia, in short

Sharknits makes custom clothing for brands, teams and companies in Saudi Arabia, in its factories in Lahore and Sialkot, Pakistan. It sews labels in Arabic and English, and sends the product details and samples a buyer's SABER certification body asks for. The buyer, as the importer, applies for the SABER certificates. Orders ship by air courier with DHL, FedEx or UPS, quoted FOB Karachi or DDP to the buyer's door. The minimum is usually 25 pieces per style and color. First we make one physical sample, for $150 to $500 depending on the design, plus shipping. Plan about 4 months ahead if you need several sample rounds. You pay in full when the order is ready to ship.

Saudi rules

SABER, step by step

Duty, VAT and papers for the Gulf
  1. Your company registers each product. It does this on SABER, the online platform of SASO (the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization). Clothing comes under SASO's rule for textile products.
  2. We send what the certifier asks for. That means the product details, such as the fiber content and the label artwork, and samples for testing.
  3. A certifier issues the product certificate. A certification body approved by SASO checks the product. SABER charges 500 Saudi riyals (SAR 500) for each product certificate, before VAT, and the certifier charges its own fees.
  4. You request a shipment certificate. You need one for each shipment, on SABER. It costs SAR 350 before VAT and is valid for 90 days.
  5. We ship by air courier. Your commercial registration (CR) number goes on the waybill, as the receiver of a business shipment.
  6. The goods clear customs. You pay the customs duty and the 15% VAT when they arrive, or we pay them under a DDP quote.
Labels

Arabic and English labels

The Saudi rule for textile products asks for labels in Arabic, sewn in or firmly fixed, with details such as these. We sew them in Arabic and English. Send us your company's name and CR number with your order.

Questions

Questions buyers ask

Do I need SABER certificates to import clothing into Saudi Arabia?

Yes. Clothing comes under SASO's rule for textile products, so each product needs a product certificate on SABER, and each shipment a shipment certificate. The importer applies. Confirm the steps for your products with your certification body or customs broker.

Can Sharknits apply for SABER certificates for me?

No. SABER is for Saudi importers, not for factories abroad, so your company applies. We send the product details and samples your certification body asks for.

Do you make clothing labels in Arabic?

Yes. We sew labels in Arabic and English, with the fiber content, the size, the country of origin and the care instructions. Your company's name and CR number go on the packaging.

What duty and VAT apply to clothing in Saudi Arabia?

As of October 2026, customs duty is 5% on most clothing lines, and higher on some. Import VAT is 15%. Check your product's tariff code with ZATCA or your customs broker.

Can you deliver DDP to Riyadh or Jeddah?

Yes. We quote DDP (delivered duty paid) to your door, with the duty and VAT paid. The SABER certificates come first: your company gets them before we ship.

Do you make kits for academies and Ramadan tournaments?

Yes. Football (soccer) kits start at 25 pieces per design, with a name and number on each jersey at no extra charge. Bulk takes about 3 to 4 weeks after you approve the sample, plus shipping.

What is the minimum order?

Usually 25 pieces per style and color, with sizes mixed. Team uniforms start at 25 pieces per design, scrubs at 50 pieces per style and color, and boxing gloves at 12 pieces per design.

Do you have an office in Saudi Arabia?

No. Our factories are in Lahore and Sialkot, Pakistan, and our corporate office is near Chicago, in the US. We work with Saudi buyers on WhatsApp and by email.
