How to start a motorcycle gear brand
Start with a few pieces your riders want, one sample of each, and a first order your budget can carry. Here are the steps, with our own numbers. You start from 12 pieces per design, with sizes mixed, and bulk takes about 6 to 8 weeks after you approve the sample.

Eight steps to your first order
- Pick your first pieces. Two to four designs keep a first order small: a sport jacket, a pair of gloves and a motocross kit, say. Each design starts at 12 pieces.
- Choose leather or textile. Cowhide or goatskin for jackets, suits and gloves. Nylon, polyester or mesh for touring, adventure and summer gear.
- Make a tech pack. Sketches, measurements, materials, protector pockets and labels, in one file. Use our free template, or send a sketch and we make the tech pack with you.
- Order one sample. One physical sample of each design, priced with your quote. Check the fit on a rider, the zips, the pockets and the logos.
- Plan certification. Selling in the EU (European Union) or the UK? The certificate must be in your brand's name. We make the samples for testing.
- Order bulk. From 12 pieces per design, with sizes mixed. Bulk takes about 6 to 8 weeks after you approve the sample.
- Add the labels. A permanent "Made in Pakistan" label on every piece, and fiber and care labels on textile gear.
- Plan the riding season. Riders buy in spring. Count back from your launch: shipping, then 6 to 8 weeks of bulk, then the sample.

Mistakes new gear brands make
Each one costs time or money on a first order.
- Claims without proof. Words about protection, abrasion or water need test results first. Say "pockets for protectors" when no protectors are fitted.
- Other brands' names. Keep other companies' brand and material names out of your product names, listings and ads.
- Selling in the EU without a certificate. Riding gear sold there needs one, in your brand's name.
- Skipping the sample. The fit on a rider, the zips and the pockets need a real piece to check.
- Too many designs at once. Each design has its own minimum and sample. Start with a few.

Where your brand goes
Plan your marks with your tech pack.
- Logo: printed, embroidered, embossed or debossed on the leather or the fabric.
- Hardware: your mark pressed into the snaps, the zip pulls and the buckles.
- Labels: a woven neck label, a permanent "Made in Pakistan" label, and fiber and care labels on textile gear.
- Packaging: every order ships in our standard packaging. Custom bags and boxes are a separate order.

Questions buyers ask
How much does it cost to start a motorcycle gear brand?
It depends on the designs and the materials. Plan for one sample for each design, priced with your quote, and a first order of 12 pieces per design. Add certification if you sell in the EU or the UK, plus shipping and import costs.
What is the minimum order for motorcycle gear?
12 pieces per design, with sizes mixed.
Do I need CE certification?
You need it to sell riding gear in the EU or the UK, and the certificate must be in your brand's name. In the US, no rule requires it, but a CE claim still needs proof.
Do I need a tech pack?
It helps. Use our free template, or send a sketch or a piece you like, and we make the tech pack with you.
How long does it take to launch?
Plan a few months: the tech pack, one or more sample rounds, certification if you need it, then bulk in about 6 to 8 weeks after you approve the sample, plus shipping.
Can you help with the design?
Yes. Send a sketch or a photo, and we turn it into a tech pack and a sample, the way we made our own APEX sport jacket.
