Sharknits makes custom heavyweight hoodies for clothing brands. We cut and sew each hoodie from fabric, to your fit, in cotton French terry or fleece at the GSM you choose. The Irregular hoodie we made is 500 GSM French terry. The minimum is usually 25 pieces per style and color, and sizes can be mixed. First we make one physical sample, for $150 to $500 depending on the design, plus shipping. Plan about 4 months ahead if you need several sample rounds. You pay in full when the order is ready to ship.

GSM is the weight of the fabric. The higher the number, the thicker the hoodie.

What GSM is a heavyweight hoodie?
Most brands call a hoodie heavyweight from about 350 GSM (grams per square meter), and many streetwear hoodies are 400 GSM or more. The Irregular hoodie we made is 500 GSM French terry.
What is the minimum order for heavyweight hoodies?
Usually 25 pieces per style and color. You can mix sizes within that number. Tell us what you are making and we will confirm.
French terry or fleece for a heavyweight hoodie?
Both can be heavy. French terry has small loops inside and breathes. Fleece is brushed inside, so it is softer and warmer. The Irregular hoodie is French terry.
Can you match the weight of a hoodie I send?
Yes. Send the hoodie or tell us the GSM, and we will match the weight and the feel on your sample. We can also send swatches first.
Does a heavier hoodie cost more?
Usually, yes. Heavier fabric uses more yarn, so it costs more per piece and weighs more to ship. We quote each order for its design and fabric.
Can you make a boxy or oversized fit?
Yes. Send a photo of a hoodie you like, a sketch or a tech pack. We make the pattern to your size chart, then one sample for you to check.
Do you make matching sweatpants?
Yes. The Irregular order was a heavyweight hoodie and sweatpants set. Each piece counts as its own style for the minimum.
How much does a sample cost?
One physical sample costs $150 to $500, depending on the design, plus shipping. You feel the weight before we make your full order.
